Syracuse Mountain Hockey

Syracuse Mountain Hockey USPHL team competes in the Northern Conference of the 28 team Empire Jr. Hockey League. This is the toughest conference in our league as all 8 teams made the 16 team playoffs last season. The team competes with the Rochester Americans, Jr. Bruins, NJ Hitmen, South Shore Kings, Islanders HC, Bay State Breakers and Springfield Pics for a majority of our games.

In our 40 game league schedule we will compete in 3-4 league showcases. The team will also attend 2-3 other events such as the Northwood Showcase in Lake Placid. The team will play a strong schedule against other teams such as the Buffalo Jr. Sabres U18’s, other top level midget programs and other prep schools and junior teams as well.

The key coaching philosophy on our team is we are about the whole player, both on and off the ice. We want to coach young men of character and not only make them better hockey players but hopefully we can also play a part in making them better young men. Everyone will not be an NHL player so life lessons are an integral part of what we do and who we are. We expect a high level of discipline from our players. We want them to take what they learn here and use it in all facets of their future. School, family, relationships and work. This is what truly matters when it is all said and done.

This year our team season tuition will be $6,300. This will include our full league schedule, the league showcases, bus travel to all USPHL league events over 150 miles and hotel rooms for the players. The team will also compete in some of the toughest Midget showcases across the Northeast and Great Lakes.  Players will receive bags, sweat suits, shells, gloves, game socks and other team items. The team has a 28 stall locker room in the Cicero Rinks and will practice an average of 3x per week this season.
